Austerity of Veeravati:
After marriage, Veeravati once came to her maternal home, when she came to her maternal home, she came to know that all her seven sisters-in-law have kept the fast of Karva Chauth. Veeravati also observed the fast of Karva Chauth for the long life and healthy body of her husband, but due to being hungry all day long, Veeravati became very weak. All the brothers explained to Veeravati that she would eat something but she did not listen and she said she will not eat anything until she gives it to the moon. Seeing her sister in this condition, her brothers were very worried and they tricked her into seeing the moon and feeding them, because Veeravati’s fast remained incomplete, so her husband died. Veeravati did austerity to bring her husband alive and eventually brought her husband back from the face of death.
